Christmas... The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Christmas is magical as a kid. The anticipation of Christmas Day and the surprises that he brings looms overhead the entire month.

Each year it seemed that Christmas took longer and longer arrive, and now that I am 30, I look back and am saddened that it passed so quickly. I remember my Christmases with such detail. Waking up and opening presents from my parents.. then taking a nap (to pass the time of course!) until it was time to go to my grandparents houses to open gifts with my family.

I always felt that if love had a sound, it was the sound of Christmas excitement with family. My family would pack into my grandma's little house; kids were situated in different rooms, hallways and on the stairs to receive and open their gifts. When we were given the go ahead to rip open the gifts, paper would fly and seconds later, we'd be begging our parents to open at least one gift. There were always tons of laughter and love between all of us.

Now that I am a parent, my excitement is just as present as it was as a kid. I want him to feel the love, the togetherness and the excitement of Christmas. I hope that one day he will be able to look back at his Christmases with happiness, like I am able to do.

Merry Christmas.
